I have never been too fond of my
name, Margaret, but I suppose I'm pleased it's
not "Mahershalalhashbaz," which is the longest
name in the Bible. It must be a pretty important
name, because God wanted to be sure Isaiah wouldn't forget it, and told him to get a pen and write it down. Some time later when Isaiah's son was born, God told him to name the boy that lonnng name. It means, "Hurry to the spoils." (Isaiah. 8:1)
Did you know that those of us who overcome in this world (meaning we run the good race and stay true to God, relying on His grace and our faith), God will give us hidden manna, and He will give us a white stone, with a new
name written on the stone which no one will know but the one who receives it? (Revelation 2)
And then there's
Noah. Talk about losing everything and starting over! It blows my mind just a little to realize that EVERY. THING. was gone except what they had on the boat when the door was opened and they stepped out on Mount Ararat.
It's Not in There:
Speaking of names, in the Book of Esther, God is not mentioned once by name.
The phrases "Cleanliness is next to Godliness," and "God helps those who help themselves" are not in the Bible, though we often hear, "You know what the Good Book says..." as a lead in to these quotes.

It's not about the Nail...You really have to watch this video
because you know someone like this...maybe it's you (me), sometimes?
It cracks me up every time I watch it!
Loved, loved, loved those pictures. Especially the one with the bug feasting! I watched the clip. I think Bill and I have had that conversation. I'm pretty sure no nails were involved. snicker. I'm also sure it's not about the FOOD, either.
ReplyDeleteHey. This post never came up on my feed. I got to it by going to M and clicking on Newer.
