About Guitars, Glen, Green and Gulls

The Christmas I was 15, I asked for a guitar.  I got it.  No lessons, but I got the guitar.  I still have it.  Still can't play it.

As I'm sure you know, Glen Campbell has Alzheimer's disease.  Watching this video made me a little nostalgic for yesteryear. You'll see Waylon Jennings, Bobby Bare, Willie Nelson, Ray Stevens, Chet Atkins, Roy Clark, Gene Watson and Crystal Gayle just to name a few.  Serious talent.

This song is Gentle on My Mind, and Glen plays a mean guitar in this video.  It's well worth watching.

  1. It's just heart breaking to hear about Glen Campbell, my mom introduced me to his music.

    1. I know! I didn't become a fan of his until after his hey-day, but man, what a talent!

  3. When I first moved away and started college, some of my most prized possessions were Glen Campbell's cassettes. Talk about a serious crush!!!
His situation - and others, of course - is so cruel. But I credit his wife and daughter for trying to make more people aware of AD. Pray for a cure!

  4. Stopping by during the #Challenge to read your blog. Nice to find Glen Campbell waiting for me. He was a part of my favorite singers. Love your photo support. A lot of work well done. I'll be back to see you.

  5. Too bad you don't live closer. I know someone who could give you lessons :)

It is sad about Glen Campbell; I guess it just proves no one is immune to the tragedies of life.

Interesting beetle; looks like a lady bug, but different color.
