Change and Problematic Paths

In order to prove that I am not going to be tied up with the scales or weight loss, 

I joined this Facebook challenge:  

And not only that, I even weighed this morning, 

after I had decided that I wouldn't weigh again until February 1.

Have you heard about 8 year old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt? According to an interview with Brad Pitt some time ago, she now will only answer to John.  Her choice of clothing is masculine.   I hope it's a phase that she outgrows...but I fear it is not.  

I do not profess to know what goes on in the heads of people like Chasity Bono, I just know that God created her female and had (has) plans for her as a female.   It saddens me that way too many of us are so out of sorts with who we are created to be.  

Peace and happiness won't come with changing outward appearances, that only comes from change from within, and true change comes from handing ourselves over to Jesus Christ for redemption.  I definitely include myself here.  Changing how much I weigh, my outward appearance, whether fat or thin, does not change me on the inside, though it can make me feel better physically.  (However, being in control of my appetite does put me in a better frame of mind.) Our problems will follow us on every path we choose until they are dealt with and resolved.   

Something I wrote sometime ago...with Shiloh added:  

If I were to tattoo green scales on my skin, split my tongue, put implants in my forehead, and change my name to Liz, I still wouldn’t be a lizard.

If I were to surgically alter my face so that my features resembled a feline, paint on whiskers, and change my name to Kitty, I still wouldn’t be a cat.

If I were to walk around on all fours, barking, lapping water from a bowl and eating Alpo, I still wouldn’t be a dog.

If I were to load up on male hormones, get a deeper voice and lose my boobs (which would be a feat unto itself), make the late night TV talk circuit and introduce myself as Chaz, I still wouldn’t be a man.

If the parents of 8 year old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt call her John at her request, she will still be a little girl.
